Account of Events
Allama Ehsan Elahi Zaheer passed away from the severe injuries he sustained in a bomb blast during a public address in Lahore on 23 March 1987.
What began as a gathering for religious guidance and public discourse was suddenly overshadowed by tragedy when the explosion struck while he was speaking. Critically wounded in the attack, he was given medical treatment before being transferred to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for further care.
Despite every effort to save him, he did not recover from the extent of his injuries and passed away on 30 March 1987. His death marked not only the loss of a distinguished scholar and speaker, but also the silencing of a voice that remained devoted to faith, knowledge, and public service until the very end.
